Clearance for Combined Hormone Replacement Products Announced

Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, announced clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market Prempro (conjugated estrogens tablets/medroxyprogesterone acetate tablets, USP) (continuous therpy) and Premphase (conjugated estrogens tablets/medroxyprogesterone acetate tablets, USP) (sequential therapy).

Prempro and Premphase will be the first combination products that offer women a convenient way to take hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
