According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the annual meeting of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, held February 18-22, 1995, in San Francisco, California, "Objective: Although controversy exists concerning the impact of intraoperative rupture of malignant ovarian cysts, little scientific data is available. Our goal was to study the biology of adhesion of ovarian cancer cells to peritoneum and provide a basis for treatment of intraoperative tumor rupture.
