Serologic Test May Compliment Pap Smear in Screening

Human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV-16) seroreactivity may provide a useful marker for evaluating relative risk of HPV-associated cancer in women, researchers reported.

Recently developed serologic assays that use conformationally correct viral proteins as antigen are providing insight into the humoral response of HPV infection.
