Vital Question for Women: Prevent Pregnancy or HIV Transmission?

There's a major difference between use of contraceptives and the use of a condom - HIV transmission.

Studies of HIV+ women have shown that the women who used very effective methods of birth control (excluding the condom) were the least likely to have male partners who used condoms with them regularly. This, therefore, increased their likelihood of becoming HIV infected.

On the positive side, studies show these behaviors can be changed through effective education. A major key to effective HIV prevention is getting men involved.
