Methotrexate and Misoprostol Used to Terminate Early Pregnancy

A recent study published in the New England Journal of Medicine reports on the efficacy of one injectable dose of methotrexate followed by an intravaginal dose of misoprostol to pharmaceutically terminate early pregnancies. Richard U. Hausknecht reported on the results of his study which included 178 women seeking to terminate pregnancies of less than 63 days ("Methotrexate and Misoprostol to Terminate Early Pregnancy," New England Journal of Medicine, August 31, 1995;333(9):537-40).
