In Situ Hybridization after Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR-ISH) for Detection of HPV Genital Lesions in HIV+ Women

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 1995 Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, held September 17-20, in San Francisco, California, "In the HIV+ women, the prevalence of squamous intraepithelial genital lesion (SIL) associated with the presence of HPV is higher than that observed in the general population. Aims of the Study: a) To classify histological lesions and to determine HPV types in SIL by the use of ISH on genital tissue samples from 30 HIV+ women. b) To compare lesions and HPV types found in HIV+ women to those found in 30 HIV- women. c) To develop the PCR-ISH and to compare...
