New Studies Expand Knowledge of Breast Reconstruction

Presentations of two new clinical studies on breast reconstruction were reported on at the 64th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ASPRS), held October 7-11, 1995, in Montreal, Canada.

The studies include one on endoscopic techniques used in breast reconstruction and another on complications of breast reconstruction caused by smoking.

Immediate Partial Breast Reconstruction Recommended

This study explored immediate partial breast reconstruction using endoscopic surgery to harvest latissimus dorsi muscle flaps from the back.
