Effect of 12-Month Percutaneous DHEA Replacement Therapy in Postmenopausal Women

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the International Symposia on DHEA Transformation into Androgens and Estrogens in Target Tissues: Intracrinology, held September 13-15, 1995, in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, "We have evaluated the chronic effect of replacement therapy with 10% DHEA cream once daily for 12 months in 60- to 70-year-old women (n=15). Anthropometric measurements showed no change in body weight but a 9.8% decrease in subcutaneous skinfold thickness at 12 months (P<0.05).
