Combination Trials Underway, Minorities and Women Sought

The Inter-Company Collaboration for AIDS Drug Development with Parexel International Corporation, Boston, Massachusetts, announced that the second research study for the Collaboration has begun to enroll patients at several research centers in the United States. The study evaluates the ability of two different three-drug combinations to reduce the viral load and produce a sustained increase in CD4 cells in patients who are HIV positive, have a CD4 count between 200 and 500 cells/(mu)L, and who have not previously received antiretroviral therapy.
