Black Women at a Greater Risk of Diabetes Than White Women

A high fat diet may be more detrimental to African-American women than Caucasian women as a risk factor for diabetes and a low fat diet may not be as beneficial for black women as compared to white women. These findings were presented at a type II diabetes conference sponsored by the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Diabetes Association (ADA), held November 2, 1995, in New York, New York.
