According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 123rd Annual Meeting and Exhibition of the American Public Health Association, held October 29 - November 2, 1995, in San Diego, California, "Two ongoing community-based programs are addressing the incidence and prevention of cancer and AIDS among medically underserved individuals in Miami, Florida. The cancer Early Detection Program (EDP) is targeted to socioeconomically disadvantaged women, particularly from Black and Hispanic communities.
