U.S. Launch of Fetal Genetic Testing Products Announced

Aprogenex Inc., Houston, Texas, is introducing two products for sale to researchers in the United States, which the company believes will expedite development and worldwide acceptance of a simple blood test to reduce the number of amniocentesis tests performed as a genetic screening procedure for pregnant mothers.

The two products, AproProbe and AproProbe Plus offer a new method of recognizing fetal cells and for identifying certain chromosome disorders. According to Dr. Luis Cantarero, chief operating officer of the company, "The products are much faster and simpler than any other method currently available."
