Missouri Health Department Warns Women of Faulty Mammograms

The Missouri Health Department is recommending that women who had mammograms done by a St. Louis County clinic be retested because of potential problems with the mammograms.

The department warned more than 500 St. Louis area women who underwent mammograms at the Olive Family Care Center in Olivette.

Some of the mammograms are of such poor quality that they could not detect cancer if it were present, officials said. "You may wish to have a repeat mammography exam at another provider," department director Dr. Coleen Kivlahan said in a letter.
