Mammographic Findings of Recurrent Breast Cancer after Lumpectomy and Radiation Therapy: Comparison with the Primary Tumor

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 81st Scientific Assembly of the Radiological Association of North America, held November 26 - December 1, in Chicago, Illinois, "Purpose: To compare the mammographic findings of recurrent breast cancer with those of the primary tumor in patients treated with lumpectomy and radiation therapy. Materials and Methods: Twenty-three patients with recurrent breast cancer after lumpectomy and radiation therapy underwent mammography dating to both the time of the primary cancer (7 xeromammograms, 12 screen-film, and 4 reports) and tumor recurrence (all screenfilm).
