The Effects of 16 Weeks of Resistance Training on Flexibility in Elderly Women

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 48th Annual Meeting of the Gerontological Society of America, held November 15-19, 1995, in Los Angeles, California, "Reduced lower limb strength and flexibility is associated with an increased risk for falls in the elderly. Recent studies indicate that conventional weight training can improve strength in the elderly, however, little is known about non-conventional resistance programs and the concomitant effects on flexibility.
