According to the author's abstract of an article published in European Journal of Obstetrics Gynecology and Reproductive Biology, "Objectives: To review the history, current clinical practice, choice of methods and number of prescriptions and sales of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in the US. Methods: Literature review, survey data collection, sales and prescription data. Results: The number of women currently utilizing HRT is greater in women aged 40-60 (35%) but falls with advancing age greater than 65 (15%) and declines further in women greater than 80 (7%).
