High-Resolution MRI of Ductal Carcinoma In Situ

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 9th International Congress on Breast Diseases and the 39th Annual Clinical Conference of the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, held April 28 - May 2, 1996, in Houston, Texas, "Purpose: Contrast-enhanced MRI of the breast has been shown to have a high sensitivity for the detection of invasive cancer. However, reports of its sensitivity for ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) have been less enthusiastic. Sensitivities as low as 40% for the detection of DCIS have been reported.
