Maternity Care Compared

In a comparison study of two maternity-care alternatives, midwives or midwives plus physicians, results of midwife-run programs equalled or bettered those which also included physicians.

Lead author Mary McGinley with the Midwifery Services at Glasgow Royal Maternity Hospital reported results of the study in the July 25, 1996 issue of The Lancet (Lancet 1996;347:208,213-218).
