Impact of a Mandatory Syphilis Delivery Test on Reported Cases of Congenital Syphilis in Upstate New York

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 36th Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC), held in New Orleans, Louisiana, September 15-18, 1996, "A statewide regulation which mandated testing for syphilis at the time of all deliveries including stillbirths greater than 22 weeks, was implemented on December 6, 1989.
