Domestic Violence Incidence and Awareness in a Medical School Class

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the Annual Scientific Assembly of the Southern Medical Association held November 20-24, 1996 in Baltimore, Maryland, "The objective of this study was to determine the incidence and awareness of domestic violence (DV) among male and female students in a first-year class of a medical school. A previously validated scale, the Index of Spouse Abuse (ISA), and demographic factors were used to determine incidence and awareness of DV in this group.
