Myometrial Calcification: Incidence and Relationship to Dilation and Curettage and Pregnancy - Work in Progress

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 82nd Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America, held December 1-6, 1996, in Chicago, Illinois, "Purpose: Uterine calcification is not uncommonly seen on endovaginal scans. Its cause is subject to conjecture and has not been well investigated. We hypothesize that the small subendometrial calcifications are related not to previous instrumentation, but rather to an old placental implantation site and that this is a normal phenomenon.
