Computer-Assisted Cancer Detection Agreement Announced

Briana Bio-Tech Inc., Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, announced that the company has entered into an agreement in principle with Qualia Computing Inc. (QCI), Beavercreek, Ohio, for the worldwide, exclusive license to commercialize and market a proprietary CADx (Computer Assisted Diagnostic) system for the analysis and interpretation of mammographic films.

The goal of this CADx system is to locate these regions that might not be detected by the radiologist when viewing the mammographic films and also to reduce the variability in mammographic readings. Current estimates indicate that up to 30 percent of suspicious regions may be missed by radiologists and there is up to 25...
