In a closed meeting, the UC Board of Regents approved the latest settlement, said university spokesman Rick Malaspina.
The settlement means the bulk of the 102 cases against the now-defunct Center for Reproductive Health at UC-Irvine have been settled, said plaintiffs' attorney Melanie Blum. The settlement of $8 million approved would be awarded to more than 25 couples, Blum said.
