Abnormal Systemic Hemodynamics and Regional Blood Hosts in a Rat Model of Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 51st Annual Fall Conference and Scientific Sessions of the American Heart Association, held September 16-19, 1997, in Washington, D.C., "Pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH) in women is associated with severe vasoconstriction and reductions in organ blood flow and cardiac output. We and others have recently reported that partial NO synthesis inhibition during mid to late gestation in pregnant rats results in severe hypertension.
