The Effect of Route of Delivery on Regression of Cervical Dysplasia during Pregnancy

According to an abstract submitted by the author to the Sixty-Sixth Meeting of the Pacific Coast Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, held September 17-21, 1997, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, "Objective: The incidence of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) has gradually increased in younger patients. Concomitantly, with improved prenatal care and more diligent screening practices, there has been an increased frequency of CIN during pregnancy. While some authors have noted higher regression rates of low and high grade dysplasia in the post partum period, the effect of mode of delivery on the regression of cervical dysplasia in the post partum period has not been studied.
