Detection of Chlamydia trachomatis in Mailed Vaginal Flush and Urine Samples Collected by Women at Home

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 37th Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, held September 28 - October 1, 1997 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, "The ligase chain reaction (LCR, Abbott) and a transcription mediated amplification assay (AMP CT, Gen-Probe) were compared for their efficacy in detecting Chlamydia trachomatis in mailed urine and vaginal flush samples obtained at home by female high-school students.
