Researchers Seeks Post-Menopausal Women For Study

Researchers working on the largest-ever study of women's health in the U.S., the Women's Health Initiative, need thousands more volunteers before the January 31, 1998, enrollment deadline.

The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey alone is seeking about 1,000 more women at its study sites in Newark, New Brunswick, and Paramus.

The study focuses on the most common causes of death, disability, and illness in women after menopause, testing whether hormone therapy, diet modification, and vitamin supplements delay or prevent heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and osteoporosis.
