Breast Cancer (Clinical Trial)

Patients Sought for Trial of Anti-Angiogenesis Drug

Patients with metastatic breast cancer, who meet specific eligibility requirements, are being sought for participation in a large multicenter clinical trial to evaluate Marimastat, an angiogenesis inhibitor.

The study is being conducted by the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG), a cancer clinical trials Cooperative Group supported by the National Cancer Institute. The study is taking place at over 170 ECOG member institutions in the United States and seeks to enroll 334 patients.

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women in the U.S. Metastatic cancer most commonly involves the bones, lung, liver, lymph nodes, and skin.
