Breast Cancer Research 'Semipostal' Stamp Unveiled

The engaging, colorful design of the first U.S. stamp in history to have its net proceeds above the cost of postage earmarked for research organizations was unveiled on May 9, 1998, by the U.S. Postal Service at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in California.

The Breast Cancer Research "semipostal" stamp was revealed during the opening ceremony of the Fifth Annual Revlon Run/Walk for Women. The self-adhesive stamp will be issued nationwide in August 1998, after which the Postal Service, breast cancer organizations, and other groups will participate in awareness events at various locations and times up to and through National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in...
