Screening, Staging and Treatment of Impalpable Breast Cancer in the National Institute of Oncology, Hungary

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 9th Congress of the European Society of Surgical Oncology, held June 3-6, 1998, in Lausanne, Switzerland, "Purpose: A mammographic (MGR) screening program for impalpable breast cancer (IBC) [was] started at our Institute on 1 October 1995. The main role of screening is to reduce breast disease morbidity and mortality by detecting and operating [on] the breast cancer in its earliest stages. Materials and Methods: All women had two-view mammography, and mammograms were read independently by two radiologists.
