Metabolic Control Needed During Postpartum/Lactating Period

Metabolic control during lactation should not be neglected because it can enable successful lactation and improved infant outcome, suggested a recent study.

"The purpose of our study was to provide a detailed description of glycemia, energy and macronutrient intake, insulin administration, and maternal weight change to provide insight into the clinical management of type 1 diabetes to promote optimal lactation," said Maureen A.
