Reiki May Be Useful for Total Wellness

Proponents of Reiki, a form of touch therapy, claim it is beneficial for total well-being.

Ahlam A. Mansour and fellow researchers in Sasketchewan, Canada, using a phenomenological approach, recently studied five women to investigate the benefits of Reiki (pronounced {{Ray-key}}), which falls under the umbrella of energy medicine, the same energy many people know as "chi" ("The Experience of Reiki," Alternative and Complimentary Therapies," 1998;4(3):211-217).

"Reiki is a precise method for connecting universal life energy with the body's innate process of healing through hands-on techniques," explained Mansour and colleagues.
