US$60 Million Awarded to Improve Services Internationally

The Population Council has been awarded a five-year US$60 million cooperative agreement by the U.S. Agency for International Development to improve reproductive health services in Africa, Asia, the Near East, Latin America, and the former Soviet Union.

The new project, "Frontiers in Reproductive Health," uses operations research (OR) -- an approach that identifies service delivery problems and proposes alternative strategies that can be tested experimentally to determine the best solution -- to improve clients' access to care and enhance the quality and sustainability of reproductive health services.
