Observed Mother-Daughter Interactions among Teenage Girls with Type I Diabetes and Eating Disturbances

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes, held September 14-17, 1998, in Zurich, Switzerland, "Eating disturbances are common and persistent among adolescent girls with type I diabetes (DM). Disturbed family interactions have been linked both with eating disturbances (ED) in nondiabetic girls and with impaired metabolic control in teens with DM.
