New Magnetic Technology Unveiled

A new, non-invasive treatment for urinary incontinence in women, the NeocontrolTM Pelvic Floor Therapy System, recently was unveiled in September 1998 at the Emory University Continence Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Urinary incontinence affects at least 15 million Americans, 85 percent of whom are women. Because age is a contributing factor, the large number of "baby boomer" women heading into menopause makes loss of bladder control, or urinary leakage, a major -- and growing -- health problem. Neocontrol therapy is administered in a doctor's office or clinic. The patient sits in a chair that has magnetic technology imbedded in the seat. ...
