ACOG Strongly Supports VBAC, But Urges Caution

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) has issued an updated Practice Bulletin, Vaginal Birth After Previous Cesarean Delivery (VBAC), urging a more cautious approach to attempting a trial of labor.

Because individual risk factors must be considered, ACOG rejects as inappropriate any 'global mandates' by third parties for a trial of labor after a previous cesarean delivery.
