Almost Half of Breast Cancers in U.S. Are Diagnosed Early

According to a communication in the September 15, 1998, issue of the journal Cancer, breast cancer data collected by the National Cancer Database (NCDB) between 1985-1995 document a trend of continuous improvement in both diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

The communication also indicated that the Database information provides norms on acceptable standards of care, diagnosis, and treatment. These norms conform to those specified in Standards of the Commission on Cancer, published by The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, a co-presenter of Cancer's current communication.
