According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 39th Meeting of the American College of Nutrition, held October 1-4, 1998, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, "Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women and the second leading cause of cancer mortality in women. There has been increased interest in the role of nutrition as a risk factor for breast cancer and for the potential preventive benefits of dietary change.
