According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 39th Meeting of the American College of Nutrition, held October 1-4, 1998, in Albuquerque, New Mexico USA, "Previous literature has described some hormone profiles and some breastfeeding practices associated with lactational amenorrhea (absence of menses).
