Do Women Respond Differently to HIV Therapy than Men?

In response to the limited availability of clinical data on women -- the fastest growing population infected with HIV -- Hoffmann-La Roche, Inc., has announced the first investigational study ever to examine the difference between men and women's response to anti-HIV therapy within the same study.

This study will evaluate and compare the response of women and men to the protease inhibitor FortovaseTM (saquinavir) in combination with two nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIS) in HIV positive patients.
