These questions face 37.5 million women in the U.S. Now, more than 160,000 of them have decided to be part of the answer.

They have joined the Women's Health Initiative (WHI), a 15-year study supported by the National Institutes of Health and administered by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI).
