Weight Gain During Pregnancy Key During Last Trimester

Women who gain more than the recommended amount of weight during pregnancy may not be able to handle all of their usual roles during the last trimester, found researchers investigating the relationship of prepregnancy weight and weight gain during pregnancy on functional status, physical symptoms, and physical energy during each trimester.

Functional status includes roles the women performed before becoming pregnant: personal care, child care, social, community, occupational, and educational activities.
