According to the authors' abstract of an article published in Bone, "Data from the Danish cohort (n=67) of a multicenter trial of oral alendronate in the prevention of post-menopausal osteoporosis were used to evaluate the capacity of the biochemical markers to predict changes in bone mineral density (BMD).
