Protein-Mineral Complex Increases Bone Mass

Used in conjunction with hormone replacement therapy or used alone, ossein-hydroxyapatite compounds (OHCs) have beneficial effects on postmenopausal bone loss.

Ossein-hydroxyapatite is a protein-mineral complex containing hydroxyapatite microcrystals (calcium and phosphorus), protein, amino acids, trace metals, and glycosaminglycans. OHC has been used successfully to treat osteoporosis (Stepan et al., Bone, 1989;10:179-185; and others); it is absorbed well by the body.
