Rocuronium Not Altered by Obesity

Neither the pharmacokinetics nor the pharmacodynamics of rocuronium bromide are altered by obesity in women.

F.K. Puhringer, of the University of Innsbruck, Austria, and associates divided equally 12 gynecological patients into two groups: those with normal weight and those of obese weight. The women were administered 0.6 mg/kg1 rocuronium ("Pharmacokinetics of Rocuronium Bromide in Obese Female Patients," European Journal of Anesthesiology, August 1999;16(8):507-510).
