Nitric Oxide Inhibitors May Slow Osteoarthritis Development in Older, White Women

Nitric oxide increases older, white women's risk of developing moderate to severe radiographic hip osteoarthritis (RHOA).

N.E. Lane and associates investigated the relation between nitrate use and RHOA in elderly, white women. They presented their findings at the 1999 Annual Scientific Meeting of the American College of Rheumatology, held November 13-17, 1999, in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The title of their study was "The Association of Nitrate Use and Incident Radiographic Hip OA in Older White Women."
