Proinflammatory cytokines are known to be involved in bone metabolism. IL-12 is a key cytokine that initiates shifting of cytokine profile from Th2 to Th1 response. Yeong-Shil Joo and associates investigated these immune response factors involved in bone loss in 134 rheumatoid arthritis patients.
