Case Study Identifies High Carrier Rate in Congo

The study was reported in the February 2000 issue of the Journal of Medical Virology.
According to H.F. Liu and colleagues, the carrier rate in 97 pregnant women of that region was 10.3%. They found that the rates for infection by other viruses were lower.
