Moderate Weight Loss OK for Overweight Moms Who Breast Feed

Overweight mothers who breast feed their infants may lose weight through a sensible diet and exercise program without fear of harming their infants, a study by U.S. National Institute of Child Health and Human Development-funded researchers has found.

The study, appearing in the February 17, 2000, New England Journal of Medicine, was conducted by Cheryl A. Lovelady, PhD, and her coworkers at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro.
