Humana Program Offers Screening and Treatment Program

Humana Inc. (HUM), Louisville, Kentucky, announced that its postpartum depression screening and treatment program, which was implemented in March 1999 as an adjunct to the prenatal program HumanaBeginnings, is attempting to fill an information void for women who may suffer from postpartum depression.

Humana has arranged with Magellan Behavioral Health to offer postpartum depression screening to more than 1,800 of its members in Wisconsin, Texas, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and Kansas. Nearly 40% of women who received the screening participated in the program.
